We are all getting ready for our church annual celebration, as we are to put together a skit by the sisters. The sisters team as creative as we have always been 🙂 with the all time famous scriptwriter and director, were sitting together forming a circle and discussing the theme for the skit. While a few sisters at the back pointed out their struggles as suggestions for the skit and I involuntarily exclaimed ….. ” your hearts are so pure and the degree of your sins are very mild and what I often struggle are the grave ones” !!! They looked at me and asked me to explain and I gave my input to the skit, I struggle with ‘loving others’. Yes, it is not easy to love others especially your immediate neighbour yet the most important commandment of Jesus Christ is to Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind and to love your neighbour as yourself. He also spoke to the church through the apostle John later that if we claim to have loved God and do not love our brothers then we are lairs!! The dark and dying world around us will know that Jesus lives when they witness us loving each other and not to mention this starts at our homes.

Is it easy to love? no !! It’s not. We recently attended the wedding of a beautiful couple and the preacher very well explained the basis our love. He said it was easy to love a thing or even a cute little baby yet how hard it becomes to love a man with a self will. That’s why if we sincerely seek to love our spouses and those around us, we need to derive our love from God. The person we are seeking to love may not be so lovable, that shouldn’t make us love them little. Our love shouldn’t be based on the subject else we would fail.

This was it!! Why was I struggling to love !! It was because my love was dependent on myself and on the other person. How can a flesh ever succeed to love another flesh. I need to seek God to fill me with love daily and the outflow and the abundance of that love will flow on to others. This is the direction of my pathway this year…. To love is a choice and a decision and we can never do it with our own strength. And that’s why we need to come to the throne of Grace and seek for it.

So is it easy to love? The answer is ‘No’ yet “The things impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27
