The divine pathway to a victorious life in Christ is such a strange one. In the worldly terms, one has to be self sufficient, strong, famous, rich and healthy to achieve what he needs to yet if we seek to fulfil God’s will in our lives, we always have to be weak, broken and humble. There’s no other way!!! It’s only in such a state when we cast all our burdens upon Him, He sustains us. He will never allow us to fail, He will never allow us to fall head long. He will provide for all our needs – spiritual, physical, emotional and material.
Oh, this is something the wise will never comprehend. As many would be knowing, we are expecting our fourth gift from God anytime this season and yes, this is not a big revelation yet a woman who is pregnant is considered so weak, fragile, tender. My husband often looks at me and encourages me that I am really lovely when pregnant!! He cherishes this season of pregnancy as a time when I am very much dependent and weak. Else as is my nature, I tend to be more sturdy and self dependent that often end up doing almost all things on my own. As a husband, I believe he cherishes seeing me taking more help and support from him.
I believe the same stands with our Creator and Saviour as well. He is so faithful that He allows us to go through innumerable circumstances in health, finances, marriage, parenting and other relationships just to make us more dependent on Him. We truly need to humble ourselves to realize that without Christ we are nothing. If He just removes His grace from our lives, every brick of our so called ‘tower of life’ will start crumbling down.
It’s good to have a faith like Lion yet may we never replace that with self confidence. I know when I am weak, I am more quiet, there’s nothing that I can boast about, I am empty, I am dependent and I am a nothing. I cannot judge another because I see myself in the same pit. I cannot yes never can speak highly of myself as it was God Who brought me through. A weak man is so. It’s only in weakness that Christ’s strength can be manifested in full. Oh.. how many times He does allow us to go through trials and different circumstances to help us understand this divine principle yet very often we credit the victory to either our faith or our righteousness. May we repent of all these follies and just trust in God and realize that we are His children, not a special one because of what we have done or exhibited yet because we are one among His billions of beloved children.
One day the Lord will call us home and may it just be a continuation of our lives on earth. May we seek to draw so close to Him that the very thought of sin would crush our hearts to repentance.
